When Ron and I co-founded NewOak Capital, our goal was to create a platform that would be generous with information, work with both institutional clients looking to deploy capital and clients holding positions deemed problematic, and build a team of agile financial experts that could come together in order to compete against some of the most established financial service companies. Internally we call it the “3 T” factor as our core beliefs, values and culture can be simply defined in our commitment to transparency, trust and team.

Today NewOak Capital is a 50+ person strong firm and we’ve stayed true to our original business plan in the building of three distinct, yet highly integrated business lines: Solutions, Capital Markets and Asset Management. We’ve completed more than 70 assignments across our different business and product areas and continue to grow due to our strict adherence to providing the highest quality independent and unbiased investment banking services to a broad range of international investors and institutions.

NewOak Solutions

Our Solutions team is a perfect example of how we combine expertise and infrastructure to assist clients in making better, more informed decisions about their portfolios. The team, led by Chad J. Burhance, MD and member of the company’s Executive Committee, is supported directly by 9 professionals and other internal departments in an entity called OpenRisk, which provides accurate and actionable information for our clients.

OpenRisk is designed to leverage the best technology and NewOak’s expertise to provide best-in-class solutions. Our Solutions team has advised clients on nearly $200 billion of assets across an array of fixed income asset classes, and are highly representative of the people and work that is being done at NewOak Capital.

Financial Institutions Group

Our Financial Institutions Group operates under NewOak Capital Markets LLC, a fully registered broker/dealer and member of FINRA. MD William Denton heads a team of 7 professionals, all who have particular interests and expertise working in collusion with regional/community banks and assisting bank management teams in raising capital for various strategic purposes. The team has developed strong relationships with private equity, hedge funds and family offices that invest in the financial services sector. Although 3 year old NewOak Capital may be considered a 'new' entrant to the financial institutions space, our leaders, namely William Denton (29 years of experience), Shanker Merchant (30 years of experience), Thomas McAvity (38 years of experience), and Andrew M. Akers (26 years of experience) are quite sage.
